Dear Parishioners

Our parish picnic was a great success in so many ways.  After celebrating our faith at Eucharist it was a pleasure seeing so many people fill the dining hall and then go to enjoy themselves in the afternoon.

Thank you to all who volunteered to help make it a success especially Jim Catrambone and the volunteers from the men’s club, and to those dedicated parishioners who wanted to make sure that all had a good time.

I am already looking forward to next year’s picnic.

In Christ, Fr Bob

Meet us at Elkins Beach on Sep 27th at 12:30pm with donations.  The walk begins at 1pm.  .  The funds raise awareness and money to help combat hunger and poverty at home and around the world. Everyone can participate – be a walker, a sponsor, or offer prayerful support.  Let’s make this a parish-wide project!  Need more information, call Carrie Richters at 526-7795.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Classes begin September 20 and registration forms are due.  If you need one, call the rectory.  Grades 1-5 meet from 9-10:30am, grades 6-12 meet from 6-7:30pm.  All classes meet in the OLF hall.

COLLECTION FOR

“LOAVES & FISHES” FUND

For several years, we’ve had our annual “Loaves & Fishes” Fund Collection in mid-September.  Because of a change in the second collection schedule, last year we had the collection over the Columbus Holiday weekend instead.  This year we will do the same and have the Loaves & Fishes collection over the Columbus Holiday weekend of October 10th & 11th.  With the economic downturn and home heating costs facing low-income families in our area this winter, this charity fund of our parish will be an even more important resource.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Any “snow-birds” who are flying (fleeing?) southward before mid-October who wish to make a contribution may do so by leaving their check at the rectory or by mailing it.  Please put “Loaves & Fishes” on the memo line.  Thank You.

A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL AT THE ANNUAL PARISH FAMILY PICNIC

More than 175 parishioners enjoyed the day beginning with Mass in the rustic chapel followed by tons of delicious home cooked food.  Kids and adults alike had fun with the field games, arts & crafts, sack races, boat rides, tubing, swimming and hiking.  Heartfelt thanks to all who volunteered to make the day such a big success.  Be sure to take a moment to view the pictures on display in the main entrance - the smiles tell it all!

MOMS FOR LIFE PLAYGROUP

We meet Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11:45 in the parish hall.  Our time includes praying, playing and eating.  Bring snacks and pack a lunch.  If you have questions, call Teresa at 526-4675 or Danielle at 526-2632.

“BEHOLD, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS”

Jesus invites, each and every person to come and spend quiet time with Him present in the Blessed Sacrament.  Adoration is held Tuesdays from 9:45am to 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Church.
