THE PILGRIM’S JOURNEY

Choir members from Our Lady Fatima and the First Baptist Church will perform this cantata by Ralph Vaughn Williams on Sunday, Nov 11, 2008 at the FBC in New London at 4pm.  In early October the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous British composer was observed.   Please plan to attend.  A free will offering will be received.

MEN’S CLUB

The Men’s Club will meet on Tues, Nov 11 at 7pm in the church hall.  The speaker will be Dan Sundquist, Dir. of Research for the Forest Society.  Dan will update us on the development-conservation balance and how it has changed dramatically over the past two years.

 

FRESH ADVENT WREATHS FOR SALE

Mount Royal Academy will be making fresh Advent wreaths again this year.  Each wreath comes with four Advent candles, information about the symbols and tradition of the wreath, and instructions on how to care for your arrangement.  Wreaths are $30 each and will be delivered to the Masses the 1st weekend of Advent, Nov. 29th and 30th.  To order, please contact Lynn Solomon at 526-9289 or lbsolomon@comcast.net.  Orders will be taken until Mon. MARCH FOR LIFE EDUCATION & DEFENSE FUND

Announces Student Contests for Year 2009 sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.  This year’s theme is “Remember-the ‘Life Principles’ mean ‘Equal Care’ with ‘No Exception!’”  Contests for essay, poem & poster are open to JHS & HS grades 6 thru 12.  Awards will be presented nationally to winners and runners-up in each category.  The NH K of C will make additional awards.  Entries must be postmarked no later than Dec. 5th.  Forms & rules are at the back of the church or by contacting Nick Monroe at 526-2624.
