MEN’S CLUB

The first meeting of the 08-09-club year will be Tuesday, Sep 9th at 7pm in the LMR.  The speaker will be fellow club member and geologist with many years experience in the petroleum industry, Phil O’Brien.  Phil’s address is entitled Good News – Bad News - The Future of Oil As An Energy Source.  Members, join us for the first of many informative gatherings!

 

WOMEN’S SOCIETY MEETING

The first meeting of the OLF/IC Women’s Society is our potluck dinner on Thursday, Sep 11th at 6pm in the parish hall.  We would love to have you join us.  Initial of last name decides the Potluck Dinner:

If you wish to join the Women’s Society, the dues are $10/yr.  We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month at noon.  Call Caroline Scully at 526-7371.  Come join us, we share friendship, food and do good deeds!

 

FREE ICE CREAM

Friends of NL Hospital will sponsor the American Red Cross’ Community Blood Drive at OLF on Monday, Sep 15th from 1 to 6pm.  Remember to bring your photo ID.  Presenting donors receive a coupon for a free carton of Friendly’s Ice Cream.

 

IC RUMMAGE SALE

SEPTEMBER 13TH FROM 9AM – 1PM

 

IC’s church hall will open Sep 8th & 10th from 9-11am and Sep 9th from 6-8pm.  You may drop off items at IC only after mass. Call Priscilla, 735-5833 or Loretta, 735-5790 for special drop off times or if you’re able to help for 1 hour the day of the sale or bake something for the sale.

 

CRAFTS

Bring your creative self to a craft session on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in the parish hall.  Join the crafty people as they have fun making holiday projects for one of our biggest fundraisers! 

 

 

CROP WALK SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

Our interfaith community will be walking around Pleasant Lake to raise awareness and money for the hungry – both locally and worldwide.  Call Carrie Richters 526-7795 for a pledge envelope.

 

HOLIDAY FAIR

We are collecting jewelry, scarves, evening bags and gloves for this annual November event.  Kindly place donations in the designated basket at the church entrance or contact Norma Gosselin at 763-4459 or Bea Stedman at 526-6872.
